![]() ![]() I've seen way too many issues installing in the default folder. It is why I recommend hmail be installed on a drive besides C for just that reason. I exported my mailboxes from Lotus Domino and it would have been trivial to add the information about folders upon export.Īhh ok so if running as admin makes difference it confirms it's permissions/UAC. That metadata could also be added when emails are exported from other systems. On a side note, I have a feature request for the dir sync tool: Can you please add the option to remove from the database any emails that do not appear in the folders?Īlso, what about adding metadata to emails when they get moved to/from a folder that includes the folder name where the mail currently resides? That way the dir sync tool could look for that info and place the mail in the folder that's listed in the metadata (or create the folder if it doesn't already exist.) That would save a lot of headaches for folks that have to do what I just did with blowing away the DB and re-importing an entire mailbox. ![]() ![]() You would think on a server being logged on as the administrator that I wouldn't have to do that, but that's M$ for you! I ended up removing all of the stuff from the DB again and re-running the sync tool as admin. There are still some with the "message undeliverable" tag, but I'm going to write those off since the majority seem to be back in the in-box. Now they're all in the in-box, but are all still listed as "Message Undeliverable." So now I'm really baffled.īill48105 wrote:data sync tool should work but maybe you need to run as admin depending on os & install path.Īh, run as admin - that helped out a lot! Now I have a bunch of emails that look correct. With everything clean I copied all of the emails back into the user folder and re-ran the sync tool. After that the email account was clean with no messages anywhere. Next I went into the database and removed all of the entries for that user ID from the hm_message_metadata and hm_messages tables, then removed all of the. I just accidentally logged on with the second one while I was remoted into my server this morning.Īnyway, I ran the dir sync tool again, but it didn't look like anything had changed so I bounced the hMail service and then was able to see some of them, but still with a ton of "Message Undeliverable" ones. Oh, I have greylisting on and didn't feel like waiting for the validation email, so I registered at a different email account, but by that time I got both validation emails. Received: from () byĪ () with mapi Thu, Ĭontent-Type: application/ms-tnef name="winmail. But if the EML's are in the user's sub folder you run data dir sync tool and it'll put orphan's into their INBOX. I'm at the point where I'm not sure I should commit to this unless I'm sure its bulletproof.simple, reliable and inexpensive (I hate those recurring fees) is what I'm looking for.ĭiagnostic information for administrators: The exchange server seems to be looking for a handshake or something. ![]() but when I send a message in from my existing hosted exchange account, it comes back to me undeliverable. It seems to send external messages fine and receives messages from gMail, yahoo, etc. I installed it on a server on my internal network and it sends/receives internal messages just fine. I love the concept and the SQL functionality, but I need to make sure its reliable and will service all the various devices (iPhones, iPads, Android phones, etc.) we have nowadays. I've been trying to decide whether to commit to this server or give up and go to a hosted solution. ![]()
